On June 4, 2022, Girijananda Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences organized a one-day workshop for hospital pharmacists collaborating with the Assam Pharmacy Council (APC) and the National Health Mission (NHM).
The event was conducted at the college auditorium of GIPS at Azara, Guwahati. During the event, the postgraduate and research block of GIPS, Guwahati was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Montu Kumar M Patel, President, Pharmacy Council of India.
The event began with a welcome speech from Mr. Ratul Das, President of the Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society accompanied by Dr. Gouranga Das, Principal of GIPS-G, and Dr. Abdul Baquee Ahmed, Principal, GIPS-T.
Following this, Professor (Dr.) Dipak Chetia, Dean of Research and Development at Dibrugarh University, delivered a lecture on the mentioned theme. Students from the first batch of the B. Pharm Practice program were formally felicitated at the end of the first session.
Psychiatrist Dr. Prakash Barman of NHM Headquarters, Assam delivered a lecture on mental health and patient counselling in the final session.
During the latter part of the workshop, the panel discussion was followed by a vote of thanks from the convenor, Dr. Trishna Das. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy.
We had a successful workshop where every participant contributed to the discussion and gained knowledge from the speakers.
