Cell-line Lab

GIPS, Guwahati is having a BCL2 cell line lab facility with an Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBSC) approved by DBT Govt of India. The lab has been designed in accordance with the guidelines for Biosafety by DBT with (1+1+1) three phase entry system to maintain the aseptic condition. The lab is also following all the guidelines for the safe disposal and decontamination of the biological wastes from the lab. The lab is presently working on Lung, Breast and Cervical Cancer cells obtained from NCCS, Pune for various sponsored projects leading to PhDs and PGs.

The lab is well equipped with a:

• A2 Biosafety Cabinet
• CO₂ Incubator
• -20°C & -80°C deep freezers
• RT-PCR
• Fluorescent Microscope
• Autoclaves and
• Centrifuge.
